Enterprises have been coming to Topcoder for more than 15 years to tap into top talent around the globe, move faster, and accomplish more, and we recently commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct an independent analysis of these benefits.

Forrester conducted a Total Economic Impact™ (TEI) study to examine the potential return on investment (ROI) that enterprises may realize by deploying crowdsourcing for application design, development, and delivery.

Forrester interviewed two Topcoder customers with years of experience using crowdsourcing to augment their internal development teams, and based on the information provided in the interviews they constructed a TEI framework for organizations considering Topcoder. Forrester also conducted a financial analysis based on one of the customers interviewed.

Crowdsourcing Benefits for Large-Scale Design & Development Programs

The TEI study concluded that the interviewed organizations realized a number of benefits with large-scale crowdsourcing programs, including:

  • Speed of delivering projects increased by 3x
  • Capacity of internal project managers increased by 3x
  • 113% ROI on large-scale crowdsourcing programs with Topcoder

The Forrester study also noted that the interviewed organizations achieved greater flexibility in adapting to business requirements, which can benefit business units with fluctuating levels of work.
